Book Review: Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King
*There Will Be Spoilers*
I finished this book yesterday. And let me tell you, it was incredible! I loved it! Probably my favorite out of the series! This is the ending of the One Ring and the beginning of Aragorn's reign.
This did have some battles in it. Quite a bit more than the first two. And there is a part when Gollum bites off Frodo's finger, which was kind of gross.
In the end, Frodo has to leave with Bilbo, Gandalf, Elrond, Galadriel, and others, to the Gray Havens. The saddest thing in the whole entire story!
By the end of the story, I cried. If you read these books, and are really close to them and the characters, you just might cry, too :P
I definetly recommend this book! It's amazing! Have you read the book? Any thoughts on the book? Comment down below!

Book Review: The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers
*There Will be Spoilers*
This book does have a little more violence in it than the first one did. But to me, that made it all the more interesting.
A favorite part of mine would be when Pip and Merry meet Treebeard. Treebeard is basically a talking, walking tree.
In part IV we meet again with Frodo and Sam. I REALLY enjoyed part IV! You get to (for a while) meet a better side of Gollum (a.k.a. Smeagol). It shows that deep down, I think, that he really would like to be nice, but with the temptation of his Precious (the Ring) it just doesn't happen. He leads them to the Black Gate of Mordor, and then tells them they shouldn't go that way, that he has a secret way. But truthfully, all though his secret way might work, he led them this way, to trap them. To give them to Shelob a giant spider, whom he had promised food. She stings Frodo, while Sam is fighting Gollum. Sam, beliving Frodo is dead takes the rings and trys to go to Mt. Doom alone. He then overhears some Orcs and puts on the ring, and follows them. He learns that Frodo isn't dead and the book basically ends here.
My favorite characters would have to be:
Aragorn, Legolas, Frodo, Sam, Merry and Pippin, Gandalf and Treebeard.
If you haven't read this book, I recommend that you do! It's amazing! I've starte The Return of the King and already love it! So look out for a review on that one maybe next weekend!
P.S. I see that my favicon is finally working :D
I finished this book Friday! I L.O.V.E.D. it! I think I like it even better than the first!
The Two Towers starts with Aragorn, Gimli, and Legolas searching for Pippin and Merry. The whole part III is about them. (Aragorn, Gimli, Legolas, Pippin and Merry, and Gandalf.) This book does have a little more violence in it than the first one did. But to me, that made it all the more interesting.

Book Review - The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring
I finished reading this book yesterday! I have one word to describe it: AMAZING!! It is absolutely brilliant! J.R.R. Tolkien made no mistake when he wrote this book!
It was full of action and had quite a few battle scenes. So, if you don't like reading about people getting stabbed or violence, then this is definetely not the book for you!
But, it did hold tales of friendship, loyalty, and courage. For example, Frodo didn't exactly 'want' to take the ring to Mordor, but he knew he had to if Middle Earth was to ever be at peace again. And even though there are hard times in the book when he just felt like giving up, he persevered and went on.
Sam held true to his promise that he wouldn't ever leave Frodo. He stuck with him through the good times and the bad.
And Aragorn protected the little Hobbits from evil, when he could.
There's also the fact that Frodo, Gandalf, Boromir, and all were tempted to take the ring and put it on. It shows that all are tempted in life.
My favorite characters are:
Frodo - He tries to be so brave. Who couldn't like him?
Aragorn - I didn't like Strider at first, but soon came to love his character. He is loyal and true to the Fellowship.
Merry and Pippin - They are quite a funny duo. Pippin can be so careless at times and isn't to bright. Where as Merry is smarter and has to sort of look out for him.
Samwise Gamgee - He too, is very loyal. Especially to Frodo. He tries his best to protect him all throughout the book and won't let Frodo go anywhere without him. At the end of the book, when Frodo is leaving, Sam follows him (and risks his life doing so, because he can't swim and nearly drowned) and tells him that he made a promise to Gandalf, never to leave Frodo or let anything happen to him.
This is one of my favorite books and I can hardly wait to start the Two Towers! I definetely recommend this book!

So, today we decorated Easter eggs! It was so much fun! I had a glitter egg kit and they turned out really pretty! Here are a few pics:
Here are the eggs before! |

All of my eggs!
I hope you all have a wonderful Resurrection Sunday! And remember, it's not about the eggs, or the baskets, it's about what Jesus did for us! He was crucified 2000 years ago, to save us from eternal death!
Until next time,
Hannah
